This little custard apple still has a couple of months before it's ready, but it's probably going to be pinkish-reddish when it's mature. We'll see how it goes.

One of the best things we bought for our farm, was the custard apple washing machine.

How the magic happens: I load the custard apples onto the conveyor belt, and as they travel through the machine, they're washed with multiple jets of water. As they come out there is a fan that dries them. Then, Gerard takes them off the conveyor belt and grades them as he stacks them on the packing trolleys. After that, we take them into the packing room, ready to be packed into trays.

Rain with a chance of showers. It's been raining for weeks, but the custard apples don't seem to mind too much, and it's nice to walk in the orchard on a rainy day. The custard apple on the left has a couple of months to grow and fill out before it's ready to pick, and the one on the right has about a month to go.

This tray of sixes, along with 179 trays of its Besties, is somewhere in Melbourne now, maybe in a fruit shop or maybe it's already in somebody's home or restaurant. We know that the people who buy them will enjoy them.

Thanks to for making it all happen.

This smoothie was the best I've had in a while - sweet and creamy with just custard apple, dragonfruit, and almond milk.
