Not a fan of ? Do you often find them too sweet? Even if you only pour a little into your gin drink?
There are a lot of great tonic brands we could recommend that have created low sugar options. And, right now, Carl and I are experimenting with .
From what we've heard, they are great if you want to add a touch of tonic to your gin, especially the more expensive sort, without diluting those wonderful botanicals and flavour.
To make is pretty straightforward:
Tonic Syrup + Soda Water = Tonic Water (done your way) ππ
You can buy soda water or choose to make your own in a SodaStream.
The verdict so far?
We're only at the beginning of this journey, but tonic syrups seem to be an intriguing road to explore.
With such exciting flavours out there, like Bittermilk Charred Grapefruit or Barrel-Aged Kina, it will push your gin drink experimentation even further. Never a bad thing!
The challenge thus far?
Finding the perfect ratio of syrup to soda and keeping your soda effervescent. No one likes a flat G&T π
π GINCASTS Top Tip: Mix the gin and syrup thoroughly before adding the soda water β it keeps the soda fizzy.
If you are using a SodaStream, avoid adding the syrup directly into the SodaStream bottle before your add the gas. From experience, it creates quite the frothing explosion! π
We're keen to hear your thoughts.
