Watching my son run his 700m race this week got me thinking about progress.

➡️ This year, he ran the whole race.

➡️ Last year, he walked parts of it.

➡️ The year before, he didn’t even want to do it.

Progress isn’t always loud! Sometimes it’s simply doing something today that felt impossible a year ago.

It’s the courage to show up, little wins that most people wouldn’t even notice. 💛

It’s the exact same for business.

One mum finally launches the offer she’s been sitting on.
Another raises her prices. Another signs her first client.
Another simply keeps showing up after a tough season.

None of those journeys look the same.
And that’s the point. 💥

Stop measuring your progress against someone else’s timeline. You’re comparing their 10years in business to your 1st year in business.

That’s not a fair comparison my friend! 🙅🏻‍♀️

Keep taking the next step. Because progress isn’t linear… but it is still progress, right!? 💛

I remember sitting there, heart racing, staring at my laptop with a 6 month old and so much self doubt.

I clicked the button to register my very own small business, me! Like who did I think I was doing this!?

The thought of one day slipping back into full-time corporate was louder.

I knew deep down the time to do this was now, not when the kids were older or things had calmed down.

I felt ready. 🤛🏻

So, I decided to start! Slowly, gently, while my son was little. I didn’t want to go back to corporate and building someone else’s dream. I wanted an income but to also be there for all the moments I could with my kids.

Self doubt, kept popping its head up along the way.
I had to learn to work through the fear.

So I backed myself. ❤️
Even with timing not being right.
Not because I had it figured out.
Realising I was hiding behind excuses.

✨ I decided to choose the slow messy action instead of pushing my dreams down.

✨ I decided to build something piece by piece over sliding back into being safe.

✨ I decided to invest in people to help me, because
I wanted to give it a red hot go.

Keep backing yourself! Even when your voice shakes, your hands are clammy and you aren’t 100% sure.

I did and it changed everything.
So give it a go! You deserve too.
