Packaging...it's a necessary evil! We want people to know how to use and how to care for our products but it's sometimes too much hey!

So we have an option at checkout :

I thought I would show you what I mean. Two orders of 5 pack Olive Food Pouches, picked and ready to package up in our kraft mailers. With 1 information card per order. That's pretty minimal right?!

Food safety is a huge issue - it's the UN Food Safety day today - to highlight the issues around the world.

The global campaign this year's focus is From burden to solutions - safe food everywhere. Unsafe food makes people sick, harms livlihoods and weakens economies
Some UN facts, each day, on average ...

😮 1,600,000 people get sick due to unsafe food
😮 340 children under 5 years of age die due to preventable foodborne diseases
😮 Foodborne diseases affect 1 in 10 people worldwide each year, and food standards help us to ensure what we eat is safe.

Here in Australia we have food standards, we are lucky. We can also ensure food is stored safely at home. Use by dates, checking food before cooking & ensuring food is the right temperature when cooking and reheating etc.

Things that we do, keeps food safer and reduces food waste :
✅ Wash our hands before handling food
✅ Wash and brush our fruit & veggies, then place in the fridge
✅ Freeze leftover bread if it won't be used up before spoiling
✅ Cover leftovers in the fridge - again freeze if it won't get eaten in the next 1-2 days
