Winter Layers
Love my Chooks, but love my eggs as well, so earlier this year I brought myself some winter layers, 3 Plymouth Rock, and 2 Rhode Island Reds. Love the Rhode Island Reds, and will be getting some more, but I am not a fan of the Plymouth Rock's, not suited with my beautiful quiet hens, bit of a bully they are.

2025 Season Baby – Meet Belle 💙🐔
Meet Belle, our beautiful 6-month-old BSO Brahma Hen.
Another stunning young lady from Big Pants, our retiring BSO Brahma Rooster. We're incredibly pleased with the quality he has produced, and Belle is a wonderful example of that.
The name Belle means a beautiful, charming, and highly attractive woman — and she certainly lives up to her name.
With her lovely temperament, impressive size, and striking Brahma features, she's a young hen we're excited to watch mature throughout the year.
At the end of the year, Belle will be paired back with Bluey, our SSO Brahma Rooster, and we're looking forward to seeing what this pairing produces for the future of our Rathy Ridge Brahmas.

Meet Destiny
Dark Brahma Hen – now 8 months old
This beautiful lady will be keeping Little Pants’ legacy going. Little Pants was the very first Brahma rooster I bred — the son of Big Pants (Brahma).
Little Pants truly was the most gentle giant. A stunning Dark Brahma with the calmest nature, and we absolutely loved him to pieces.
Sadly, just after Christmas, we lost him to a snake bite. It completely broke our hearts, and to this day we still deeply feel his loss.
Destiny will now carry on his beautiful legacy, and at the end of the year she will be paired back to a Dark Brahma rooster.

Our second batch of babies for 2026 are now 4½ weeks old and doing really well 💕
They are growing fast, full of personality, and keeping us very busy here at Rathy Ridge. We’re so happy with how they are progressing and can’t wait to watch them continue to thrive 🐾

🐣✨ Meet Salina ✨🐣
A beautiful new addition to the 2025 season here at Rathy Ridge Chooks
Salina is another baby from Big Pants, our retiring BSO Brahma rooster, and she is already turning heads!
At 7½ months old, Salina is a 4th generation Brahma cross, and just look at that penciling… wow 😍
Later this year she’ll be paired back to a Dark Brahma rooster, and we’re very excited to see what the next generation brings. The breeding journey keeps getting better every season 💛🐓
