Our butcher of the month is 👋​

A New Farm favourite since 1925, Rayner’s Meats has been serving the community for 100 years with tradition, care, and top-quality cuts. Their butter chicken pies made with our Elgin Valley Farms chicken are a must-try – seriously, they disappear fast!​

National Water Day is a reminder of something we think about every single day at Elgin Valley Farms, water efficiency.

With a focus on saving water, we also close the loop by treating all of our waste water on site to irrigation standards. This resultant irrigation water provides excellent grass growing conditions around our properties for our resident farmer and his award winning cattle.

Because in Queensland, water is precious. And if we want to keep farming well into the future, we have to treat it that way.

Sustainability isn’t a campaign for us. It’s daily practice. 💧

Meet Robyn, our Team Member of the Month 👋

Currently a Management Trainee, and formerly in our Quality systems role, Robyn’s been with EVF for just over four years. She’s the kind of person who gets stuck in.

Last month she was learning dispatch with our Morningside crew, this month she’s in HR working in Recruitment with Chantelle. Always learning, always backing the team.

Outside of work, it’s family first. Dog friendly beaches, weekends travelling for her daughter’s hockey, and a bit of gardening to switch off. She’s big on supporting junior hockey too, helping keep sport affordable so more kids can play, make mates and stay active.

When we asked what she loves most about EVF, it was simple, the people. We’re still proudly local, from our farms to our team, and we can tell you exactly where your chicken came from.

For Robyn, it’s working with good people she genuinely calls friends. And that says it all.

Our January Team Member of the Month is our wonderful Chief HR Manager, Cecil Fernandes.

Cecil has been part of the team for 3 years and when he’s not looking after our team he’s looking after his pet Cockatoo, Alexandrine Parakeets, cooking, wandering his neighbourhood with his 2 pet goats (occasionally going viral on social media with said goats) and feeding the homeless.

He loves being at EVF because we’re Just Down the Road and, quite simply, have tastier chicken!

We’re lovers of great dad jokes here at EVF, Cecil’s favourite is:

Why did the chicken join the band?
Because it already had Drumsticks!
