Travelled on up to sunny far north Qld for the Riverway Meats BBQ Battle. Always a great weekend up here catching up with friends and family.

The promoters Paul Miller and the rest of the crew do a great job looking after cooks and putting on a great community event.

Thanks to my mate Geoffrey Baker for giving me a hand all weekend, loading the trailer, and just being a genuine legend who was happy to help out.

This is the fourth year we've travelled to this region for a bbq contest, and we've been blessed to have won Grand Champion for the fourth straight year.

Headed down to Armidale NSW for the BBQ Battalion Armidale ABA and SCA cookoff.

Stopped at Deepwater pub on the way down with my mate Wookie from Grillas in the Mist, had a few beers and a few Fried and steamed Sth Melbourne dimmies were had.

For a respectable 4th Overall in a small, but strong field.

Dusty Que were too strong and nailed GC with Grillas in the Mist and Jacks Creek BBQ tieing for RGC.

Home from Meatstock Sydney in what is the 3rd leg of the Meatstock BBQ Triple Crown. Three states, three massive festivals, thousands of Kms travelled, got to see old friends and meet new ones. Competed, Cooked and I reckon we had a banging Meatstock season with lots to celebrate.

Congrats to all the competitors that heard their number called and got themselves some hardware.
Massive congrats to Mick Brennan and Nadine Glanville who both competed in SCA for the 1st time cooking out of the Triple B BBQ trailer. Both had worked bloody hard to prepare, travel and cook. Absolutely stoked for Mick for getting a call in both Steak and Wings.

Was a great weekend at Meatstock Gippsland.

Friday was the Steak Cookoff Association competition and we managed to nail a 2nd and 4th in the double steak cookoff.

Rolled into the Australasian Barbecue Alliance cookoff today and hit some good form and brought home some hardware.

3rd Brisket

Good enough for Reserve Grand Champion šŸ†. Congrats to Jimmy Brisket on the GC.

Next stop for Triple B Barbecue is Meatstock Toowoomba.

The stakes are always higher at the Meatstock events, and given this event is now a direct qualifier for the $1M Las Vegas BBQ World Cup in 2027, makes it even more important to do well.

This festival was cancelled last year due to a cyclone blowing through South East Queensland, but its all go for this year and it looks to be a huge festival to compete at.

We will be competing in both Steak Cookoff Association and Australasian Barbecue Alliance competitions on Friday and Saturday.

Good luck and safe travels for everyone attending.

When you have a mini stroke on Monday due to high blood pressure, end up in hospital Tuesday and Wednesday, discharge, loadup trailer for first cookoff in 4 months, point it south on the Motorway to The Dam Hotel BBQ Cookoff - and still do pretty well, I'll take it!

As we head into our first competition of the year in NSW this coming weekend, its time to get the trailer cleaned up and loaded.

Man, these guys at Heat Beads BBQ is where its at. They keep our pits fuelled up and support us year after year..

They always have a massive presence at all Meatstocks coming up, be sure to check out my friends at the Heat Beads Meat Wagon. They keep the people fed and entertained, and one of the best displays of live fire cooking you'll see.

There's some really good people in BBQ and the crew you'll meet at the Heat Beads setup are some of the best.

Cooked at the Distillery Road Market yesterday in the Australasian Barbecue Alliance BBQ competition. Had a fair day with some little challenges here and there.
