The love of food came at a very early age for me. I quickly discovered it was such a powerful way to bring people together... Breakfasts, lunches, dinners, BBQs whatever the occasion – wherever there was people sharing food, there was pleasure. As early as I can remember on weekends as a child, there was always more than just our family gathered around the table talking and laughing while mum cook
ed up a hearty breakfast. Growing up in rural Australia there were often times we travelled away with our horses competing a various events and camping. Meal times at these events would see everyone from near and far gather together at our camp to sit by the fire, talk, laugh and most importantly – EAT! Once again, these events brought everyone together, and so, my association with food = fun and good times was further instilled. As I progressed through my youth my passion for food matured and was further fuelled when I began to experiment with different flavours and types of food – I was hooked. It was also this completely new found fascination with flavours and food which also started to fuel the creative side within me. It has been through a combination of both my experience with food and my creativity where I discovered that people very much first eat with their eyes. I am a strong believer it is a combination of both visual experience and the journey of flavour that invoke ultimate pleasure within a meal. I pride myself in making food that is just as good to look at, as it is too eat.
