Another feeding therapy snippet! In this session, Sam used the story of the Three Little Pigs to turn vegetable practice into play! 🐷 🥒
For many picky eaters, eating larger amounts of a food can feel overwhelming. By embedding cucumber into a fun story, we increased engagement with our little friend, and created opportunities for repeated bites. Today’s goal was increasing the volume of vegetables eaten, all while keeping the experience positive and enjoyable. 💚

Sometimes, the fastest way to reduce fear around food… is through humour! 🥕
In this session, Sam used humour & play to help shift a toddler’s feelings about vegetables. She explored the food in fun ways - wearing it as a hat, balancing it on elbows, pretending to put it in noses… until our little friend confidently showed her the “right” way to eat it! 👏🏼
This play-based feeding strategy helps with:
- Reducing fear around non-preferred foods
- Building trust with whole food groups
- Supporting children to feel safe & in control

When children are laughing, engaged, and feeling connected, their brains are much more open to learning & trying new things 🌟 💛

This week we spiced things up in our feeding group! 🇲🇽This week’s group was all about a Mexican-themed feeding adventure for our picky eaters! From exploring new textures to trying bold flavors, our little learners practiced tasting & expanding their food horizons in a fun, low-pressure way. 🌮
