It was great for ALBON to exhibit at the NSW Commercialisation Showcase this year.

A productive day meeting people from across industry, research, investment and government, and having some great conversations about the future of innovation and commercialisation in NSW.

It was also a fantastic opportunity to share what we’re building at ALBON and the progress we’re making in algae-bacteria wastewater treatment and resource recovery.

Thanks to Investment NSW, the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineers and everyone involved for putting together such a valuable event. We enjoyed connecting with so many people working to bring new technologies and ideas to market.

Congratulations to our April Intern of the Month, Jack Gowing 👏

A big thank you to as who wrapped up his time with ALBON last month 🌱

Jestin joined us through a placement and quickly became such a valued part of the team. Over the past year, he brought commitment, reliability, and great technical care as our lead controls engineer, developing the controls architecture behind our algae-bacteria wastewater treatment system.

A real highlight was having Jestin join us in London for the Global Accelerator, where ALBON was selected as one of the top 22 ventures from over 15,000 applicants worldwide.

After .bessell took out Best Student Project at the Awards, he’ll now represent NSW and at the Awards finals at Ozwater ‘26.

Tom will be presenting ALBON’s work on low-energy algae-bacteria wastewater treatment for the agri-food industry.

Proud of the team and excited to take ALBON’s work to a national stage.

ALBON exhibited at the Big Tech Big Ideas showcase in Dubbo and had the chance to visit The Little Big Dairy Co.

Big thanks to Campbell Chesworth for showing John and me around. Seeing their operations up close was a valuable reminder of how important practical, site-ready solutions are across dairy and agri-food wastewater.

These visits help keep ALBON’s R&D grounded in real operating conditions as we prepare for our smaller-scale paid dairy pilot in Camden later this year.

Big shoutout to William Wulff, ALBON’s first Intern of the Month - and yes, this post is long overdue. 👏

Over his summer placement, Will made a huge impact across our systems and controls team, contributing to PLC system design and validation, prototyping, and early-stage photobioreactor development.

More importantly, he consistently showed initiative, strong technical capability, and stepped up as a genuine leader within the team.

We’re also excited to share that Will has officially stepped into the role of Principal Engineer, and for the past two months has been helping lead ALBON’s engineering efforts.

A very well-deserved step and a reflection of the impact he’s already made.

Thanks for everything you’ve contributed, Will. Keen for what’s ahead 🚀
