Somebody call up the Los Angeles Dodgers scouting team, because it’s another home run for ALBON!!!!
ALBON has just been recognised with a Merit Award in the Sustainability and Environmental Category at the 2026 National iAwards. For us, the recognition was particularly meaningful because it comes at a point where ALBON is moving from development to deployment.
The team is super thrilled and grateful to be acknowledged for their hard work over the past months. Our team is building a new approach to wastewater treatment that combines algae and bacteria to remove nutrients from wastewater while capturing carbon and producing useful biomass. The goal is simple: make high-performance wastewater treatment more affordable, lower-energy and easier to deploy for industries such as dairy, meat and food processing.
Over the past year, that has taken us from laboratory development through to preparations for our first paid dairy deployment, alongside continued work on our patent-pending reactor platform, controls system and scale-up pathway.
The National iAwards also opens the door to the next stage of the competition, with ALBON now progressing to the Asia-Pacific iAwards in Jakarta.
We’re excited to represent Australian climate and water innovation on the international stage and to put what we’re building in front of a broader group of technology leaders, judges and companies from across the region.
