go girl 👍
She went from being terrified of chickens to getting 43 tattoos celebrating them—and honestly, her story says something real about how our lives shift when we stop running from what scares us.
Ashley Woods from Prescott Valley, Arizona, was once afraid of almost every bird. Then she started raising Salmon Faverolles chickens and fell completely in love with their weird personalities, strange sounds, and ridiculous little runs. Over time, her flock grew to more than 100 birds, and they became woven into her daily life in a way she never expected.
When you find something that brings you that kind of joy, you hold onto it. For Ashley, that meant combining her two passions—chickens and tattoos. Her collection grew to 43 designs: aliens abducting a chicken in the Arizona desert, Chicken Little, Foghorn Leghorn, a chicken in sunglasses. In March 2026, she was officially recognized for the record.
What strikes us about her story isn't just the tattoos. It's that she transformed something that once frightened her into a source of everyday happiness and connection. That's the kind of courage that matters—not the dramatic kind, but the quiet, persistent kind that shows up when you're willing to let your life surprise you.
