Some news just hits a little differently.

Pronutro is being discontinued.

And yes… we know it hasn’t tasted quite the same since the rebrand. But somehow, hearing that it’s actually going away still feels like the end of something.

Because Pronutro was never just breakfast.

It was childhood mornings.
It was a bowl before school.
It was something our mums bought without even thinking about it.
It was one of those familiar tastes that instantly took you back home.

When you live far from South Africa, you realise how much these little things mean. A packet on the shelf can bring back memories you didn’t even realise you were holding onto.

So while we might not miss the *new* Pronutro quite as much as the old one… we’ll definitely miss what it represented.

Another little taste of home saying goodbye.

And that one hurts. 🇿🇦

For generations, ProNutro has been part of South African homes, family routines and memories. Earlier this year, we introduced New Generation ProNutro to keep the brand available to consumers, while preserving its nutritional benefits and producing it in a more environmentally sustainable way.

After launch, some consumers told us the new product experience was not what they expected from ProNutro, particularly in relation to taste, texture and mixability. We listened and explored options to bring back the original product experience, but we were unable to recreate the taste and texture consumers associated with the original ProNutro.

After a long and careful review, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue ProNutro in South Africa. We are grateful for the support consumers have shown the brand over many years.

For any questions, please contact our Consumer Care Centre on 0800 212 360 or email [email protected].
