The shed has been completely cleaned out and dispersed on the field to enrich the soil, which the garlic will undoubtedly appreciate.

Updated! June update.

ECMWF climate outlook for El Nino looks to peak in January 2027

Now lets get some things straight we will continue to say this...

For Australia...

(1) Not every El Nino is the same a stronger El Nino does not mean the drought will be worse. 1997 and 2015 speaks for themselves.

(2) El Nino impacts in Australia are mostly for eastern and south eastern Australia the second part of the year which we have maintained all year in saying this.

(3) El Nino regardless the strength increases the chances of lower than average rainfall from JULY until at least December.. It doesn't just stop raining! Just increases the chances of below average rainfall especially the areas we mentioned above!

(4) El Nino is just one climate factor.. We are still keeping an eye on the IOD (Indian ocean Dipole) which is generally neutral at the moment and by July we will know what it will do for the rest of the year. 7-8 out of 10 El Nino's a positive IOD develops which is the El Nino of the Indian ocean but as you can see it doesn't happen everytime.

(5) A very warm western Tasman sea which should persist until the end of 2026 may counteract some of the El Nino impacts example eastern Tasmania, east coast of NSW east of the ranges (not inland). East Gippsland in Victoria.

(6) The least important at this moment the SAM (Southern annular mode) That has been generally positive of late and there's no reason we see it going extremely positive or extremely negative over the coming weeks and hopefully months unless we have another SSW event (Sudden Statospheric warming event) which happened in September last year and threw the whole rule book out the window! As we had the strongest Neg IOD on record and a weak La Nina both wet climate indicators but still no match for the SSW which led to spring being very dry for most areas and windy. At the moment we are seeing no signs of this.

(7) Globally this will Disrupt the weather for the next 18 months! Is putting it mildly especially from later this year into 2027.

We hope we have broken this down!

I found this photo in a feed from another group , how true it is ,as a farmer we all need to back each other ,it would be unAustralian if we didn’t , I have a vast network of people that help me , ranging from meteorologists, agronomists, entomologists just to name a few, anybody that follows my page , I will help to the best of my ability and knowledge that I have gained over the years , and the network of professionals I have in place, so what I’m trying to say is what this sign basically says back an Australian farmer or an Australian business , Australia needs it right now , cheers Kev , Manager of GREEN HILL GARLIC

Hello and welcome. I am thrilled to announce my return to the world of garlic cultivation, as previously stated. Many of you have been eager for me to resume growing garlic in Taree, and I am excited to fulfill this commitment. Having completed my other projects, I can now devote my attention to cultivating garlic once again. Although the ideal time for planting this year has passed, I am currently preparing the fields for future cultivation. I extend an invitation to join me on this new journey as we cultivate Green Hill Garlic. I appreciate your ongoing support and eagerly anticipate hearing from you. Please stay tuned for updates and prepare for an exciting adventure! Cheers, Kevin, Manager of Green Hill Garlic. That’s my beautiful wife Rayleen in the photo by the way, love you hunny.
