🌿 An update from the elderberry orchard 🌿

This year has been a tough one for our elderberries.

Hot, dry conditions through the season meant the bushes simply didn’t produce the way they normally do. The yield has been very low, and it’s been a real reminder that even the most resilient plants respond to what nature throws at them.

There’s a quiet lesson in that.

You can do all the right things — tend the soil, care for the roots, nurture the plants — but in the end, nature leads.

So this season, instead of harvest abundance, we’ll be giving the orchard a hard prune and reset. A fresh cut back, to help the plants recover strength, redirect energy, and prepare for the seasons ahead.

It’s not always about growth and abundance. Sometimes it’s about rest, resilience, and rebuilding from the ground up.

We’re hopeful for what next season brings! 💚

Yesterday we gathered to learn, create and reconnect with traditional herbal knowledge. 🌿
