A MOMENT THAT MEANS SO MUCH ❤️🏆

With very heavy hearts, but also immense pride, we share that Darling Downs Spit Roast Caterers has been awarded #2 Highly Commended Wedding Caterer – Southern Queensland Country in the Wedding Industry Awards 2026.

This achievement comes at a time of immense sadness for our family, as only six days ago we said goodbye to our beautiful Dad.

Dad was the foundation of this business. Alongside Mum, he built Darling Downs Spit Roast from the ground up over 34 years ago with hard work, dedication, kindness and a genuine love for helping people celebrate life’s special moments.

Dad was one of the kindest, most generous and hardworking people you could ever meet. He didn’t need recognition or praise — he quietly gave his all to his family, his business and everyone around him.

This award is dedicated to him. ❤️

We know Dad would be quietly proud, and we hope he knows how much his love, guidance and values continue to live on through us and through this business he created.

To all of our amazing couples who voted for us and have trusted us to be part of your special days — thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

🤍 A Little Personal Update 🤍

It’s with a very heavy heart that I share that my beautiful Dad has passed away. 💔

To say I’m heartbroken would be an understatement.

I wanted to let everyone know that I may be a little slower than usual in responding to phone calls, messages and emails.

Please know that I’m not ignoring anyone, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I just need a little time to grieve, be with my family and process everything.

I truly appreciate your patience, kindness and understanding during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🤍

RIP Dad. You'll forever be in my heart and I'll miss you terribly. ❤️❤️

There will be a wake on Wednesday 21st at 12.30pm at the Westbrook Tavern for anyone who knew and loved him to come and share memories and honour Dad for the special man he was.

I’m incredibly proud and grateful to share that Darling Downs Spit Roast Caterers has been named a Finalist in the 2026 Wedding Industry Awards – Southern Queensland Country. 🤍🥂

This one feels particularly special to me.

My Mum and Dad started Darling Downs Spit Roast Caterers 34 years ago, building the business from the ground up with hard work, dedication and a genuine love of looking after people.

Taking over the business they created has meant so much to me, and I’ve always wanted to continue what they started in a way that would make them proud. ❤️

To every couple who has trusted us to cater their wedding day — thank you. Being chosen to play a part in such an important celebration is something we never take for granted.

And a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us, recommended us, left a lovely review, booked us for their special day, or supported our family business along the way.
