Fun facts of the ladybug cycle.
These are called antlion or also know as larva and instar. Baby ladybugs, how cool do they look!
As instar go through 4 stages or growth they can eat up 400 aphids a day….wow!
And they also eat scale insects, adelgids, mites, and insect eggs. Busy babies…

Here’s a photo of the life cycle of ladybug and a bounce in finding them in the greenhouse.

Our ladybugs are busy! Some like to hide for privacy😂 don't blame them.... but there was so many aphids the numbers were growing dramatically. Finally the ladybug numbers have caught up and feasting and multiplying.
Ladybugs can eat up to 50 aphids a day.

Can you see the Hover Fly? Not easy to catch on the camera, but it’s there.

Hover Flies are another predator that we like in the greenhouse. They lay their eggs in the aphid colonies and when the eggs hatch the larvae love to feed on aphids.
