After a fantastic hay and silage season last year a number of our customers were devastated by bushfire losing most of their feed and pastures

We have have had a busy Autumn reseeding damaged pastures providing much needed feed for valuable stock

We have managed to get great results with our processes of deep ripping the soil enabling water to flow into damaged soils and reducing run off and erosion.

We used this in tandem with our new power harrows and air seeder leaving a perfect seed bed and flat even surface

This process lets the soil breathe and bring nutrients in, and results in premium paddocks.

Hi guys
It’s been a tough season this year will low hay and silage yields and precious little summer rainfall
Time is now to book in autumn sowing to make the most of any rainfall we get with a lot of dry sowing started already
We will be running two seeders this year with the addition of a twin disc Seatmo seed drill along with our Duncan drill
We have been taking bookings organising seed and fertiliser so don’t miss out get in early and get a head start on filling your autumn winter feed gap
Don’t get caught out paying high hay prices when you can grow your own much more cheaply and efficiently

It’s looking like it’s going to be a drier season than the last couple of years so yields maybe a bit lighter so a quality product will be more important than ever

Another post for you since you seem to be enjoying keeping up to date with what going on.
After our very busy sowing season we moving into getting some of our fencing jobs done.
Here are some photos of a post and rail fence we have completed down the Mornington Peninsula.
A great client doing and amazing job of transforming a paddock into a beautiful home and vineyard.
The post and rail has come up a really well and the client is over the moon.

Hi Guys
Such a beautiful day in Yea I thought I would go out and check out Lawson Angus pastures we had sown early this year.
As you can see from the photos the annual rye grass has jumped out of the ground and growing fast.
The team at Lawson Angus are doing an amazing job using time controlled grazing to make the best use of the huge amount of feed.
Great to see all the preparation and planning coming together to get a great result.

Hi Guys
Had a great response to my last post and have had a lot of my old clients booking in for the coming silage and hay season.
We have an influx of new clients as one of our local contractors has retired last year so please feel free to give me a ring to come and inspect your paddocks and put you on our list as it is filling up fast.

I thought I would let you guys know about how our sowing went this year.
We picked some new machinery which proved to be very efficient and reliable .
First was a 23 row Duncan seeder being 3.5 m wide it covered the ground quickly and the seed placement is perfect. We have had great germination and weather conditions made for good growth and productive pastures.
We also bought 4 m lely speed disc which proved to be invaluable working up flood affected pastures making a great seed bed to drill into.
We also bought a fertiliser and seed grouper that made the job so much easier and more efficient.
All around a very busy time but great results looking forward to harvesting some of that grass in to bales in the coming months

Hi Guys
Haven’t posted in forever we have had a very busy number of months after a challenging but productive silage and hay season we are coming up to that time of year again.

We had a great season with our new Massey Ferguson RB4180 it is the best baler I have run it produces the most consistent highest density bale on the market.

We have bought another John Deere 6630 tractor to go with our McHale high speed orbital wrapper great combination to help make the highest quality silage

I will have more posts coming but just a reminder that if you want hay or silage done this year give me a call now so we come for an onsite visit and book you in before our client list becomes full.
