šæ A little bit of farm food for thoughtā¦ šš·š
One of the things we care about most on our farm is the land our animals live on.
Itās easy to think of farming as simply growing animals and producing food, but thereās a whole ecosystem underneath it ā the grass, the soil, the insects, the worms, the plants and everything else that makes a healthy paddock work.
Research into pasture-based farming has found that well-managed grazing can have positive effects on pasture growth, soil health and biodiversity. š±
And thatās something we see every day on our own farm.
For us, looking after the pasture isnāt separate from looking after the animals ā itās part of it. Healthy paddocks provide good feed, and good feed helps us raise healthy, happy animals.
Weāre not trying to be the biggest farm. Weāre trying to be a farm that weāre proud of ā producing pork, lamb and chicken while looking after the animals and the land that supports them.
Sometimes the best farming isnāt about doing more.
Itās about doing things well. ā¤ļø
