There has been some seriously hard conversations happening here. We had some nice rain in November and I think we got a little bit in Dec or Jan 2025. π§
But we have not had any rain since then, its been 5 months. Our grass is dead and we are feeding our beautiful animals hay. Its not even winter βοΈ
All of our animals have a purpose, so we dont want sell them. We need to find a way to feed our animals until November (6 months) that's with expecting rain and our October grasses to come through. If the drought continues then we need more.
Unfortunately, the drought means everyone around us needs hay. There isnt anything local anymore, there isnt enough water for people it irragate their fields and then you have the fuel issue. Some dont have enough diesel for people to plant what they normally would.
Any hay we order will cost a lot more due to the fuel costs and the travel time as everywhere in Southern QLD and Northern NSW is dry.
To everyone who has bought eggs, chicks, chickens and hired chicks from us. Thank you so much for supporting our family and farm. It means so much. π₯²β€οΈ
