Look at those colours! Super excited to be at Devonport Farmers Market again tomorrow - we've got some wonderful marmalades again this week:

~ Seville and blood orange with a hint of jalapeno
~Orange and Preolenna scrumpy
~ Lime and native sea parsley
~ Blood orange, kunzea and leatherwood honey
~ Lime, ginger and star anise
~ Lemon and pepperberry
~ Seville orange with Irish whiskey

AND for the first time tomorrow we'll be debuting our GORGEOUS new sweet thing - is it a cake? Is it a biscuit? It's impossible to decide but with chestnut and spelt flour, spices and a lemon glaze with candied mixed citrus peel, they had better sell out because I cannot be trusted around them!

Honestly one of the yummiest things I've ever baked.

We'll also have our usual spiced hot chocolate and both dairy and vegan chai native and whole spices and of course our delicious roasted chestnuts.

Hope to see you there!

Listening to Muse and cooking on this wet winters day.... Little teaser before the finished product later - anyone want to hazard a guess at what we're making?

Olives! We haven't given the olive trees the love (and protection) they need this season due to how busy we've been with other things, but we'll pick enough to make a couple of jars and make sure we're sorted out for next season.

We've been lucky enough to score a jar full of olives from our trees, gathered and pickled by a neighbour prior to us moving here so that was super lovely of them - hopefully we'll be able to return the favour.

Shiitake mushrooms. Today we added a further 300 plugs to chestnut logs and added them to the collection.

5 of the 6 stacks are in the rainforest and are of various ages but still producing. This new lot will take as much as a year to bear food, but should produce for 5 or more years.
