Hi Guys
Just thought with all this weather we are having I would update you on the coming hay season.

We had a big hay season last year servicing all of our past clients and welcomed more new property owners.

We made a lot more high quality silage last season with the wet weather. It is a great alternative as the colder wetter weather pushed the season back.

Silage enables you to conservative high quality forage before the plant matures too far losing quality.

We also made 5500 rolls of hay last year as well as helping Lawsons Angus with their pit silage.

If you every get the chance to go to the Lawsons Angus Bull sale it is a great day with one of the Bull setting a Australian record of $150,000

We also purchased a Massey Ferguson 1839 small square baler and single rotor rake to service all out horsey clients in Yea and down the Yarra Valley making 4500 squares.

We have made some exciting new machinery purchases this year from the Sandersons Machinery at Nagambie Josh and Damian are great to deal with and are very helpful and knowledgeable about all their machines.

Look out for the new machinery updates

Please give us a ring to come and have a look at your paddocks and book in as it is already filling up. Spring is just round the corner ☀️

It has been a moment since we made a post to update you on what has been happening

We have had a very busy Autumn and winter with lots of pasture renovation for old and new customers along with numerous fencing projects.

Its been a bit of a challenge with wet weather at times but great to have good ground (sometimes a bit to soft) to drive posts into thank you to all of our customers for their support.

We are gearing up for big hay season so give us a call to book in early so we can make sure you don’t miss out as places are filling up already!

Hi Guys
As the sunsets on other great hay season I want to take this opportunity to thank our fantastic customers new and old.

It has been a great first year with over 4500 bales rolled up and over 3000 small squares put away in the sheds.

We have had great feed back from our clients with all of them booking us in for season 2021.
They have been very pleased with the density and weight we have in our bales as well as the high nutritional quality of the hay and silage we have produced.

It has been a bit of a tricky season with the weather and a couple of mechical hiccups we had through the season. But we have maintained our communication with our customers keeping them up to date with our progress and realistic timelines.

We will be taking some time off over the Xmas and new year to catch up with family and friends then will back into our pasture renovation and fencing programs.

We look forward to working with you all in 2021. Have safe and happy Xmas and new year.

Hi Guys some more silage out at Yarck today. So where farck is Yarck? Between Yea and Mansfield has some great cafe and bakery’s. It’s a must stop at the Giddy Goat or Bucks both have great food and fantastic coffee. Weather is looking a bit iffy for fodder conservation next week so will be back on the fencing until it fines up.

Hi Guys
Thought I would show you the silage being wrapped. This is a great set up and does a great job. The wrapper is run off a hydraulic pump in the engine bay.

Hi Guys
Sorry didn’t get any video of the McHale baler at work but these bales are some of the best we have produced.
Heavy, even, and great square edges. It makes a big difference reducing the amount of oxygen that is wrapped into the bale with the silage wrap and creating a higher quality silage.

Hi Guys
Lucky with the weather last week grass dried down quickly with a bit of sunshine and breeze. The Krone TC 880 make short work of raking and leave a great fluffy Swath for the baler makes it much easier to get a tight even bale

Hi Guys
This the Tedder in action comes with the John Deere sound track we do enjoy what we do

19/10/2020

Hi Guys
This is our tedder which is new to us this year does a great job and with the 9 metre spread is takes no time to get over the paddock.
We ted all our silage at least once straight after mowing and again if required to speed up the drying process and to ensure the grass is a more even moisture content before it goes into the bale

19/10/2020

Hi Guys
Mowing for silage last week up at Caveat at one of Molesworth Pastorals property’s. John Waterhouse does a great job with his paddocks I wish they were all this good. Great swath of rye grass and clover will be very high grade silage.

Hi Guys
Getting the machinery ready for the coming silage and hay season we have had our new High density McHale round baker delivered from John Sanderson Machinery at Nagambie.

They are a family business dedicated to their customers and suppling quality machinery and back up service. Damion and Josh have been great to deal with and take the time to answer your questions and deal with any issues.

We looking forward to getting the new baler out into the paddocks. McHale have a great reputation for reliability and making high density heavy bales from the high moisture silage to thick pasture hay and crops.

We will be posting updates of some of the paddock we will be baling through the coming season and some video of the machinery in action.

Hi Guys
Just an update as we are coming into what is going to be a great silage and hay season. We have great soil moisture and the sun is shining we have been out and about inspecting properties.
We caught up with Cath Omalley and John Waterhouse at their property in Caveat looking at a couple of silage paddocks. As you can see it has a great rye clover base and will make some very high quality silage.
John has been managing for Paul and Cath for many years and has help them to build one of the best Hereford herds in Victoria. The property has been added to over the years and the infrastructure and pastures have been improved strategically increasing carrying capacity and efficiency.
Having worked for John and Cath over many years they are always a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to making some great silage for them this season.
The Order book is filling up so don’t miss out get in quick give us a call also we can come and look over your paddocks.

Hi Guys
Just though I would post a photo of a job we finished for Brian at Flowerdale last week. The new enterance has come up beautifully it helps to have a great view behind it.
We use only the best Australian made products and source our rails from a great local supplier Craig From Samaria contracting at Swanpool. These are all one species so are great quality and consistent size which makes for a high quality finish.
