STEM Commchity following For You the Rohingya Genocide
25 August 2026 is a day of remembrance for the Rohingya people. It is a time to remember the lives lost, the families separated, the homes destroyed, and the surffering experienced by countless people.
On 25 August 2017, a massive wave of violence began in Myanmar's Rakhine State. Many Rohingya families were forced to leave their homes and flee for safety. They travelled long and difficult journeys, carrying only a few belongings and hoping to find a place where they could live without fear.
Families were separated, villages were destroyed, and many people lost loved ones. Thousands of Rohingya crossed the border into Bangladesh seeking safety. The journey was painful and frightening, especially for children, elderly people, and families who had lost everything.
Today, many Rohingya families continue to remember their homeland, their villages, their relatives, and the liv they once had. They hope that one day they will b able to return home safely, with dignity, rights, security, and justice.
