On Saturday, March 14th, 2015 Fashion is a Sport's first edition will be host by Salomé Verduyckt and Matti Verbeeck. Two ambitious young fashionable ladies.
• Salomé is a professional freelance model and fashion show partner of various posh parties including Folie du Salt (Knokke) and Black Experience (Brugge). Salome will also organize the fashion show of Bal der Bals in May 2015.
• Matti is kno
wn for her fashion blog www.tache-the-beauté.com, she is a photographer and does styling for various photo shoots.
• Respectively 16 and 17 years old, both still students but with an incredible drive and entrepreneurship. We want to show the world that young people are able to take an initiative that bridges all cultures, ideologies, and lifestyles. This fashion event new concept in Belgian fashion with attention to unique designers with a cool view on fashion and society! Our concept in a few words: we take away the ideas of typical fashion shows, that are very exclusive and only addressed to a specific audience and where everything should be very formal and according to a protocol and rules expired. Our intention is to give a chance to ambitious young talents such as designers, models, make-up artists, hairartists, photographers, videographers, etc. This will provide a very nice atmosphere during the organization and realization of Fashion is a Sport. Fashion is a Sport is a fashion event where Belgian talents (in the milieu of fashion and modeling) are represented trough a fashion show in the unique style, atmosphere and mood of sport and street style (chique), referring to the wonderful location in Brussels' city center, Palais du Midi/Zuidpaleis, the best known basketball hall in town. People from all over the country meets young talents at this event. To get in the perfect atmosphere, some rappers, a performance by professional basketball players and a hiphopdancer (Annika Verplancke, world champion freestyle hiphop) will perform during the eye-catching fashion show where upcoming fashion designers will show their newest collection trough stunning models (new faces) scouted by the organizers.
