🌊☀️ Itararé Beach – São Vicente, SP 🇧🇷
Located on the south coast of São Paulo, Itararé Beach stretches 2.9 km from Porchat Island to Canal 1, with 2.5 km falling within the São Vicente city limits. This long, sandy paradise is kissed by the waters of Santos Bay and borders the city of Santos to the east.
🏖️ Beach Vibe & Space
One of the beach’s standout features is its wide stretch of sand. In some areas, you’ll walk over 150 meters from the promenade to the sea. This can change slightly depending on tides and time of year, but it’s always plenty of room for sports, sunbathing, or just relaxing.
🚠 Tourist Highlights
Take a ride on the famous São Vicente Cable Car, which connects the beach to the top of Morro do Voturuá. Once up there, you’ll find more than just stunning views.
🪨 Pedra da Feiticeira
A legendary rock formation steeped in centuries-old stories. Locals love to share tales about witches and hidden secrets connected to this mysterious spot.
🏝️ Ilha de Urubuqueçaba
An uninhabited island located just a few meters off the coast of Itararé Beach. While not open to the public, it’s a striking part of the seascape and a cool photo opportunity.
📸 Best Viewpoint
For a full panoramic view of Itararé Beach and the entire Baía de Santos, head up to the Niemeyer Monument on Porchat Island. It’s a must-see.
🍴 Food & Drinks
Beach food here isn’t the highlight. Most kiosks are overpriced and offer lower quality compared to the nearby restaurants.
🔐 Safety Tips
Itararé is generally safe, during the day. . Be mindful of groups of teens on bikes (common in the Baixada Santista area). On the south side, near Porchat Island Club, you may occasionally see homeless people. Typically non-threatening but worth noting.
