Last month at the Pilgrim Baptist Church Community Farm, sponsored by The Royal Bank of Canada, The Agricultural Development Organization and The Church Commercial Farming group, we had the pleasure of signing up new backyard farmers, sharing freshly grown vegetables and healthy food with the community, and hearing from community leaders on the importance and resurgence of local farming.
With information and insight from nutritionalist, health trainers, members of parliament, and corporate leaders, the event was a wonderful display and example of what we as Bahamians can do to lead healthier lives by growing more of what we eat and enhancing our communities through working together.
