We are thankful to the Office of the Honorable Prime Minister for welcoming this donation for the Children’s Home and acknowledging the efforts of hardworking Bahamians.

Yesterday, Ondre Cargill, CEO of Essential Farms, stopped by my office, and it turned into one of those genuine conversations you’re grateful to have.

He came bearing a thoughtful gift, donating a supply of organically grown eggs from his family’s farm. But what stayed with me most was hearing his story directly from him - what it really takes to build an organic food business in The Bahamas including the long hours, the setbacks, and the steady progress that comes from persistence and belief in the work.

Conversations like this are exactly why we are expanding grant support for Bahamians in agriculture. We want more producers to have the backing they need to grow, scale, create jobs, and strengthen our food security across our islands.
