Currently almost all poultry farmers of Sarpang Dzongkhag are facing very critical difficulties in marketing of their broiler chicken. Their chickens are ready for harvest, some beyond maturity (more than 60 days) but still there's no clue of demand in the market and it looks will remain same for next couples of months. It's very much worrying for them to see their birds consuming feeds of worth Nu 5000/- to 6000/- or even more per day because as it get matured, there by increases the consumption ratio too. Some farmers and groups might feel that the buyers are skipping their products and getting from other sources. No! I feel it's completely wrong because when the consumer population itself is low and getting lower day by day, there's no solutions and same seems the reasons to our farmers too.
The situation at present has reached to such that some of our broiler farmers might get forced to dispose of their birds and then never think of raising poultry farming again in life. Be it Day Old Chicks to feed, totally depending on credit, imagine how much they're going to get losses. The cost remains minimum nearly 2 lakhs and above in just 45 days. Our farmers are crying 😭 but no one seems to notice their tears! Who is going to hear their pain? Definitely no one but themselves!
