DURING HARD MOMENTS
A Chair in the Kraal
People often ask where I find peace.
For me, it isn't in a busy place or surrounded by noise. It is in a simple chair placed inside the kraal.
I can sit there for hours without saying a word. Slowly, the sheep begin to come closer. They are not forced. They come because they trust me. Some stand beside me, while others quietly lie down around my chair.
In those moments, the pain does not disappear, but my mind becomes lighter. The worries become quieter. Time slows down.
Those gentle animals remind me that peace does not always come from having a perfect life. Sometimes it comes from being accepted without words.
That is why I love friendly animals. They ask for nothing except kindness, and somehow, they give back more than they take.
For a little while, sitting in the middle of my flock, I am not thinking about hospitals, chronic pain, or everything life has taken from me.
I am simply at peace.
