Had way too much fun making this video. šŸ˜‚ Elevated a very simple watermelon margarita recipe with my watermelon sugar rim (and some nice coupes). All you need is a bottle of limeade with 2 cups poured out (save for later or make a couple virgin versions!), added a cup and a half of tequila and filled the rest with watermelon juice. Easy peasy lime squeezy.

Market day tomorrow! I got a little pep in my step this week and decided to try out a BUNCH of new flavours.

Hey flavour lovers, if you've been looking for an excuse to level up your summer drinks, this is your sign.

We have an amazing lineup for tomorrrow's market, including our feature flavour of the week: STRAWBERRY BASIL SUGAR, y'all.

We're talking strawberry mojitos, strawberry lemonade, iced tea, fresh berries. It's one of those blends that somehow keeps finding new jobs.

Not saying you need Strawberry Basil Sugar... but we're also not saying you don't.

Weā€™ve been preparing for Fatherā€™s Day all week. Mostly with butter.

So much butter.

Weā€™ve put together a Fatherā€™s Day market lineup featuring a hand-selected collection of compound butters, flavoured salts, sugar blends, a spiced rub, and a bread dipper blend.

This weekā€™s Flavour Spotlight is Rosemary Blue Cheese Butter. Rich, savoury, and made for melting over a hot steak, a loaded baked potato, grilled vegetables, or anything else making its way onto the barbecue this weekend.

Whether youā€™re planning a Fatherā€™s Day feast or just stopping by for your favourites, weā€™ve got plenty to choose from.

Last Sunday, we featured our JalapeƱo Lime Salt at the market, and apparently one batch was a little optimistic. šŸ˜‚

For those of you who walked away with a packet, here are a few ideas to get you started:

ā€¢ Rim your favourite margarita or summer cocktail
ā€¢ Sprinkle it over fresh pineapple or watermelon
ā€¢ Finish fish tacos or grilled shrimp
ā€¢ Add a bright kick to roasted vegetables
ā€¢ Use it as a finishing salt for grilled meats

Before there was Salt City Gal, there was a girl who loved getting creative in the kitchen.

I come by it honestly. Both of my parents are chefs, so food, flavour, and feeding people have always been part of my world.

As long as I can remember, Iā€™ve loved experimenting with flavours and finding little ways to add personality to a meal or drink. Iā€™m drawn to the small details: a finishing salt that wakes up a dish, a sugar blend that adds a twist, or a cocktail rimmer that makes people ask, ā€œOkay, what is that?ā€ Those little touches can transform something ordinary into something memorable.

Iā€™ve always liked getting a little weird in the kitchen, and I always encourage others to do the same. Cooking shouldnā€™t be stressful or something to be scared of. It should be an extension of your creative self.

Thatā€™s how Salt City Gal came to be.

Today, I had the privilege of sharing it at the Arnprior Farmersā€™ Market, and my heart is so full from all the love. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, offer encouragement, and support this little dream of mine.
