This year I finally got together a small flock of double laced barnevelders. We had a gold laced hen but lacked a rooster or other hens... so we acquired this stunning rooster and purchased 6 chicks - 2 ended up being these lovely pullets. They will lay medium brown eggs next year, with hatching eggs and chicks available in 2027.

This flock was a bit of a giggle as I've never been on team Silkie... but our good friends at Bayview Acres Homestead have beautiful silkies and I couldn't resist the colors... as we've raised 3 from chicks (then added 3 more pullets this summer) our son took a strong interest in them and has claimed them 🤣😅 The partridge pulley "Puff" is the matriarch of the flock and is very social lol

Our farm lost a big part of its heart and soul yesterday. My heart horse Indy. Jon and I have had her almost as long as we've bee. Together for 18 hrs this mare left more than hoof prints on our hearts. She was a once in a lifetime friend, partner and family member. Our farm isn't the same without her loving presence in the horses' paddock and her best friend Sapphire is still searching for her friend. Indy was a Georgian Grande born in BC by the amazing stallion Abbyshire's Koing Ryker and out of a one of a kind black beauty Saddlebred mare - Stella Madrid. Indy left us too soon without any warning. We love you beautiful mare run free with your mom and until we meet again 💔💞

All our goats are finished kidding now we just have one heifer that's officially past her due date. She's narrowed, she's feisty and ready to meet her calf... Hopefully it happens smooth and without intervention.

Any guesses what Maybelle will have? She's Jersey x hereford bred to a Hereford bull. She was carrying very wide so we are excited to see what she's been growing 🥰
