FRIENDLY REMINDER! We welcome returns of our Whipped Tallow jars! These little beauties can be washed and reused pretty much indefinitely.

I cringe at the throwaway society we’ve become and strive to employ reusable products as much as possible. This keeps waste out of the landfills and cost of production low (environmental cost as well as $).

Well, the past couple of days haven’t felt very springy! 🌸 So I took advantage of the opportunity to hang close to the wood stove and restock our products!

What if every family bought their food from a local farmer 👩‍🌾 No seriously, what would be different?

🌱 Families would have more nutrient dense food

🌱 Farmers would make more money (which would encourage them and their children to keep farming)

🌱 People would know where their food comes from and how it was grown

🌱 Community bonds would be stronger

🌱 There would be independence from supply chain breakdown

It sounds glorious to me… what do you think? 🤔

Another VERY chilly morning here at the farm!

As always, this time of year comes with supply challenges. Mostly with our seasonally raised products like chicken. We raise ALL of our poultry on pasture, and chickens and snow don’t mix! Also, due to the fact that we have to decide in January/February how many birds to grow (this is when we apply for licenses) sometimes, like this year, we run short.

All that said, this will be the LAST WEEK of the season for chicken at the Alderney Landing farmers market. We sincerely apologize and rest assured we will be growing a larger amount of chicken this coming season. Stay tuned in the spring for availability!

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!

We will have a small amount of pork products becoming available in the coming weeks! Demand was so high that all we’ve been left with for a few months has been sausage but pork chops, bacon, and ground pork will be returning in a limited amount until this summers’ growing period.
