I have to express and endless amount of gratitude to a few very good people. In the first photo it’s Candy (aleikitchen.official ) and Rath (Nine North (Viet-Thai Cuisine))
Not only do they help my micro business survive, but we’re all a family.
Also, I have to thank Rath and Tam for having all of us over last night. Wonderful hosts! Everything they made was unbelievable. I think Rath is the queen of Banh Mi. Tam is the king of backyard oasis.
The Bò tái chanh was mouth watering. Papaya salad had me going back for thirds. Meatballs. Shrimp skewers. Veggies. Charcuterie. Let’s just say Candy and I rolled home. I am still full lol.
Belly full. Heart full.

Although I love reading other posts. I cannot pretend I’m chic lol. I’m the exact opposite. I’ve been called a hillbilly in many languages. I’m a river rat. Who just really likes food. So maybeeeee it’s kinda chic to be authentic to myself 💞🙏🏼 not try to be someone I’m not. But still hop on the trending train here and there hahahaha

Today my grandma would have been 99 years old. I definitely thought she was going to live to 120. Father Don used to say grandmas still here because she’s not done talking yet. Boy do I miss grandma talking. If you know me personally, you know my grandma was my world. She saved me at 12 years old. When my brother got hit by a car in 99 I learned that I could move in with my dad (who had been living with his parents since my parents divorce) so therefore I got to move in with my grandma. It put a forever wedge between my mom and I. But at the end of the day, my grandma saved me. She was there for me for everything. She understood me. She was a mother to me. But the best kind. She was a GRAND mother.

To all the grandmas out there, bless you!! You may never realize what you mean to your grand kids. Or you may. But grandmas are so very special. Those memories you’re making with your grand babies. They will cherish it for the rest of their lives, I promise you.

Happy 99th Birthday Grandma!!
I can see her and grandpa doing the polka in a church hall. There’s lots of food. Lots of loved ones. And just good ol times.
