Pinni stock is ready!

Like everything else, Pinni is now available in 1000 different versions - immunity pinni, maternity pinni, diet pinni, blaah blaah pinni. Others are busy replacing sugar with shakar and then shakar with brown sugar and then brown sugar with honey. These endless modifications will always find their way in the world of social media.

Pinni is definitely high-calorie, but my connection with Pinni is deep. It’s more than a desi energy ladoo for me. Every time I eat, I remember my nani, I remember fondly a lot of childhood memories. So technically, for me, there is no replacement, and the only thing I can do to choose to eat in moderation. That’s it.

I still swear by my Nani’s recipe with simple ingredients.

1. Ghee
2. Atta
3. Almonds
4. Sund (dried ginger powder)
5. Sugar.

At home, we tried and tested various versions, but this gives peace to my soul! I stick to this, even though we prepare more fancy versions for some occasions.

The fundamental principle here is that less is more. Over the years, I realised my love for food that is prepared using fewer ingredients has been amplified – maybe, it’s more sustainable, and you cherish what’s inside more than more heterogenous versions.
