Spent extra time with the birds tonight on our last night of summer vacation!

Also! Look at how big the turkeys are getting! 🥰 They are the sweetest birds. Literally come running to me with their little warbles/noises. They are like feathered puppies 🤣.

We will be downsizing our flock size significantly before winter hits. We are making some super hard decisions and giving up some of our breeding groups too. We will have:

- chicken hens
- some grow out pullets and cockerels from this spring
- duck hens
- drakes
- a few breeding groups that contain a rooster and 1-3 hens.

If you're interested, please message me and let me know what you're looking for. We have a waitlist for hens so will go down that list first and then move on to others.

Eventful day over here! The Septic Company was able to move up our septic field replacement by a whole week! We weren't scheduled to have the work done til next week but they were able to fit us in early 🎉. We are relieved that it is finally fixed. Dealing with insurance has been a slow, annoying process. We are glad we found The Septic Company to do this work for us. They have been super fast to respond when we reach out to them and were able to get the job done quickly. We will definitely use them for any future septic needs.

Annnd mama hen got to keep her field nest afterall 🤣. I was shocked to find her there after they left. I wonder if she stayed there all day while they worked with all their big machines. Maybe she went back to her run for the day and returned to the nest once the trucks left 🤷. Either way...I'm sure she's happy about it 😆.

Not to mention...she is right on top of our septic field which will be excavated next week. She's not gonna be happy when her eggs and nest disappear.
