The biggest reason we wanted to make Just Sauce was to give people their time back. You know how it is by the time you get home, the last thing you want to do is spend an hour chopping garlic, crushing tomatoes, and letting a pot simmer on the stove while it splatters everywhere.

We basically did all that heavy lifting for you. We slow-cook every batch using the same premium, clean ingredients our dad used, which means you don’t need a million spices cluttering up your pantry or hours of free time.

We’ve learned that a setback is never the end of the book, it’s just data and a plot twist to set up your comeback.

By keeping our heads down, focusing on our local Ontario program, and refuse-to-quit showing up every single day, the doors didn’t just re-open; they blew wide open.

Now, our Rosé, Marinara, and Tomato Basil sauces are on the shelves at all Sobeys locations across Ontario, and our recent “Golden Ticket” win at the Walmart Growth Summit has officially put us back on the path to going national.

WE GOT A DEAL!!! (cue cheesy movie soundtrack)

I am honestly still trying to process this, but we did it! We actually walked away with a “Golden Ticket” from the Walmart Canada Growth Summit!

Going into those meetings today, I was a nervous and uncertain with hint of confidence because we’ve been at this for years.

You put your heart, soul, and endless sleepless nights into creating something you love and you just hope others see the value in it too.

To say I am feeling overwhelmed with gratitude right now is an understatement. This isn’t just a win for the company, it’s a win for our family, our amazing team, and everyone who has supported us, cheered us on, and bought a jar of our sauce along the way.

Thank you, Walmart Canada, for believing in local, Canadian-made businesses, and thank you to ALL of you for being part of this journey with us. Sing with me now!

Good morning, everyone!

I’m not going to lie, I have some major pre-meeting jitters today! It’s officially “Draft Day” for us at the Walmart Canada Growth Summit.

We’ve got three rounds of meetings lined up to pitch Just Sauce, Just Soup, and our co-packing.

Honestly, we don’t even know which category buyers we’re sitting down with yet, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for that “Golden Ticket”

At the end of the day, we’re just a local, family-owned business trying to make great Canadian products, and we’re so grateful to have you all rooting for us.

You know how we all have that one origin story? The kind of history that shapes exactly who you are, even if you’re still uncovering parts of it along the way?

Lately, we’ve been digging into our own past, finding all these incredible family secrets and pieces of history we never knew existed.

For us, it all comes back to two things: an old, beautifully twisted olive tree, and a man named Biaggio Messina.

We’re finally learning about the soil we came from, and honestly, it’s been a wild ride.

It’s been a crazy few months for us at MEMA Foods. From visiting suppliers across Italy and Canada, strengthening partnerships at the source, to landing new listings and building new relationships with Canadian retailers, the momentum has been nonstop.

What excites me most isn’t just the growth, it’s seeing years of hard work, trust, and relationship building start to open new doors. Every meeting, every plant visit, every conversation continues to push us forward.
