Allan and I have decided to retire from farm life and the farm is now for sale. My herd of kunekunes is also up for sale. Need pigs or pork or a farm, let me know! 😁

I am thrilled to announce that our kunekune pork will be on the menu at the Inn of Bay Fortune some evening soon. Allan and I delivered a pig to the kitchen team this morning. Chef Mackenzie, Chef John-Ross Tizzard, another team member and me in the photo. Thanks to Chef Matthew Pigeon for helping to get this in place. Book a seat at the feast!!!

I run hot and cold where social media is concerned. I get tired of the negativity, those who spread hate, those who spread misinformation and the scammers trying to rip me off. When this happens, I have trouble using social media. I almost left FB this winter because of the political drama.

Today, however, I am ready to post a sweet photo of four darling little kunekune piglets that were born on the farm Monday afternoon.

Photos of piglets make the internet a better place.

February weather is being flirty, but I know March weather will break my heart.

Today feels like the beginning of spring. The sun is hot. Snow is melting. There are a few sprigs of green grass next to the barn.

This won’t last, dagnabbit!!!

Thank you to Maddie, Sharon MacLean, Margaret Toole D’Agostino and Noelle Burns for their pumpkins and squash. Noelle also dropped off a bale of straw, which we will use for bedding. These pumpkins were distributed among all the indoor pens. Those on pasture had a lovely snack when they got back indoors.

Don’t waste those fall decorations. Chickens, sheep, goats, cattle and pigs love to eat pumpkins. Many farms accept donations of pumpkins for their animals.
