With drought and restrictions being part of a lot of conversations, we'd like to talk about what sustainability means to us and what we're up to as small biz owners and community members. Our home is part of our biz and these are the small ways we have had the privilege to of contributing to reducing our consumption.

Our 1959 house is certified more efficient than a new build by a long shot and it didnt take much. We're still on the original 100amp service and havent even come close to doing everything we can to make it even more efficient. We've always got plans though!

***Whatever upgrades you intend to do, do them BEFORE installing solar to maximize rebates and minimize headaches! Upgrade rebates paid for our solar power.
We reduce water usage by using rain barrels, composting soil, using grey water where we can, having an on demand tank, and an efficient self watering bucket system for our pepper plants that allows us to not only hand water using rain caught but also overwinter when the time comes.

Thats our home set up. Our commercial kitchen is chalka with energy guides appliances and a drought efficient dishwasher. Our retail spot Downtownish, has a mini split keeping the spot cool in summer and cosy in winter. Our appliances are all energy efficient and the decor....is thanks to too good to be through mostly! Upcycle for the win 🏆
We are a BC Green Business leader and take every opportunity to talk about how easy and affordable making the switch is to more sustainable options.
