This month, COVE welcomes 18 students to the 2026 COVE Internship Program. Over the next 16 weeks, participants will gain hands-on experience through placements at COVE and with leading marine-based technology companies operating at the forefront of the industry.
This year’s cohort represents a strong cross-section of post-secondary institutions across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario, with a wide variety of academic backgrounds spanning computer science, mechanical and chemical engineering, ocean technology, commerce, marine biology, marine management, and environmental geoscience.
Now in its seventh year, the program continues to evolve, connecting emerging talent with opportunities across the marine sector. This year’s interns are placed with host companies and organizations working within underwater acoustics, marine environmental monitoring and research, education and outreach, marine equipment manufacturing, aerial systems technology, biotechnology, and underwater robotics.
Throughout the program, interns will work alongside industry mentors, develop in-demand skills, and contribute to projects that are helping shape the future of the marine economy. By creating pathways for students to gain direct industry experience, the program also helps companies across the COVE ecosystem access emerging talent and build capacity for future growth and innovation.
COVE extends sincere thanks to its program supporters, including the Information and Communications Technology Council (), Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, Canada Summer Jobs, and our founding partner . Their continued support is instrumental in delivering this impactful initiative.
