Celebrating our brands and their achievements is one of our favourite things. Earlier this spring named the Most Admired Champagne Brands 2026. This list is comprised of the top 40 renowned and globally recognized Champagne brands and we are thrilled that Champagne Taittinger is #9 on the list! This family estate is rich in history and tradition with a modern forward-thinking flair. Recognized for their elegant and unique house style, they are committed to producing spectacular champagnes all in the name of family spirit. Now that is something to celebrate!

A few weeks ago, Drinks International also released their list of Most Admired Wine Brands 2026. This list captures the top 50 most notable and globally recognized wine brands. We are very excited to represent two brands on this list. Coming in at #9 we have CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España ) from Rioja, Spain and at #18 we have Gerard Bertrand from the Languedoc-Roussillon in the South of France.

CVNE is a 5th generation family estate that has been producing wines in Rijoa for over 140 years making them a key player in the development and history of this wine region. With vineyards and estates throughout the region they produce a diverse range of wines from fresh and easy drinking to iconic wines that can be cellared for decades. Founded on tradition but committed to innovation, the focus is on creating high quality wines from vineyard to glass.

Gerard Bertrand is emblematic of the South of France and has put the Languedoc on the map for producing not only quality wines but premium wines. With 17 estates throughout the region, Gerard Bertrand is able to showcase the vast terroir that exists in the South of France. With his creative passion and dedication to biodynamic and organic farming, he takes his wine making to the next level. Producing a broad range of wines from everyday favourites to ultra premium cellar worthy wines.

Today marks a very exciting day in the world of Port Wine. We are pleased to share the announcement of the 2024 Vintage Port declaration from Fladgate Family Wines which represents the historical port houses of Taylor Fladgate, Fonseca and Croft. This is the first classic vintage port declaration this decade for each of these port houses and the first widely declared vintage since 2017!

The 2024 vintage is a result of ideal weather conditions throughout the growing season and during harvest paired with traditional wine making techniques. Although this is one of the rarest and most limited vintage port releases, the wines are expressive, complex and of outstanding quality with each house upholding their distinct style and character. Here is what managing director Adrian Bridge has to say about this vintage:

“I am delighted to announce our decision to declare these 2024 Vintage Ports from Taylor Fladgate, Fonseca, and Croft. While this represents our smallest and rarest declaration to date, the wines are of truly exceptional quality.

“We are particularly proud of our distinct house styles, created by the unique terroir of our historic properties across the Douro Valley, which are clearly present in these latest expressions. This formidable yet approachable cohort of wines would be ready to relish today with friends, but equally have great potential to be matured in the cellar in anticipation of future enjoyment.”

Today we welcome the year of the horse which represents momentum, action and moving forward with purpose and alignment.

The horse is a majestic creature often associated with beauty, grace and stamina. Diverse and powerful, the horse plays a valuable role when it comes to biodynamic viticulture. They move with purpose throughout the vineyards to plow and till the earth which prevents compacting the soil, allows natural aeration and provides fertilization. This sustainable and traditional approach to farming not only protects the environment, but enhances the health of the vines and soil. Using horses to work the vineyards promotes alignment and connection between plants, animals and humans. These positive eco friendly measures in the vineyard ultimately influence and increase the quality of the wines. We honour all of the hardworking horses that make this possible.

Today we raise a dram to Scotland’s National Bard, Robbie Burns. A time to celebrate the words of this well-known poet and connect with the traditions and spirit of Scotland. Our dram of choice on this Burns Night is the award winning Torabhaig Sound of Sleat Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Isle of Skye.

Recently ranked #9 Whisky of the Year in Whisky Advocate’s Top 20 of 2025 and awarded 94 points, this single malt is a must try! The Sound of Sleat is Torabhaig’s latest release in their Legacy Series and is named for the narrow strip of sea that separates the Isle of Sky from the mainland. This elegant whisky is a beautiful representation of the distillery’s hallmark style of “smoke with taste”.

Matured in Quercus Alba American Oak, (first fill toasted barrels, first fill Bourbon barrels from Kentucky and refilled Bourbon barrels), this single malt is full of character. The enticing nose offers notes of orange, apricot, popcorn, pipe to***co and smoke paired with sweet scents of honey and vanilla. The palate is rich and layered with bonfire smoke, oaky notes, honey, vanilla, salinity with sweet and savoury spice leading to an enjoyable lingering finish – a true taste of the Isle of Skye.

It’s officially December which is one of our favourite times of the year. We are always excited to welcome what we call Top 100 season. A season filled with awards and recognition throughout the wine and spirits industry providing an opportunity for us to celebrate all of our adored producers. We kick off the season by raising a glass to Luigi Bosca who recently received the Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Award 2025 for “New World Winery of the Year”. Congratulations! This award recognizes those who are influential, innovative and dedicated to the successful growth of the industry.

This is an outstanding honour for Luigi Bosca Winery as they approach 125 years of winemaking in Mendoza, Argentina. Founded in 1901 by the Arizu family and now in their fourth generation, the winery has played a key role in the development of the wine industry in Argentina. The Arizu family has always strived to produce elegant, expressive wines reflecting the history and terroir of the region.

“Gifted with the ability to constantly remaster ourselves, we are creators of the new Argentinian wine culture for the world. We move forward with the world as it changes, sustained by a legacy that connects past, present, and future.”
~ Alberto Arizu
