Asia Fest is back this weekend until Sept 27 for the mid-autumn festival! Here is everything I ate at AsiaFest YEG | Edmonton’s Largest Asian Night Market and my honest thoughts 💭

Items worth trying:
Crab soup from Vietreats | Authentic Vietnamese street food
Khao Soi from Thai by Jel and Eat Banana in YEG (& their BKK dirty dog was huge!)
Halo Halo roll Jamilla Faith Amirah
Golden Tofu from One01 Bistro
Dubai Style Cake from JAVA Cafe & Bakery
Char Siu Dawg JUU KU

First day so some booths were still figuring out the rhythm. Overall, loved the layout this year - much more spacious and spread out. There are 120+ vendors and there is a fun passport that you can get for $4 to collect vendor stamps! Dress warmly, the weather gets crispy at night 🍂

When the party is BYOB… no problem, I know exactly what I’m bringing 😌

DRINK ANOVA is an Alberta-based, award-winning ready-to-drink cocktail brand, and their drinks are bomb. I first discovered them at an Elks game last year, and they’ve been one of my go-tos whenever I need something easy to bring to a party.

The flavours are tropical and fruity without being overly sweet, so they’re super easy to sip and share. I like the variety pack, which comes with 4 flavours:

You need to check out MCB before they close for the season! 🍔

I had a burger craving to satisfy and their smash burgers did NOT disappoint. There have been quite a few new burger spots opening lately, but this is definitely my favourite ✨new one I’ve tried so far.

They’re only open until they sell out, so I’d recommend going early! The menu is simple - it’s just burgers, which I appreciate. Do one thing well and that’s all you need, right?

Choose how many patties you want (S = 1 patty, XXL = 5 patties) and make it a combo with fries + a drink. I went with the double and thought it was the perfect size for me. They also have banana pudding on the menu, but sadly it wasn’t available when I went 🥲

Anyways, the burgers are delicious and really well made. Who knew so much magic could happen inside a sea can?! 🤪

10/10 would recommend. And I gotta admit… Northside, you guys have some pretty good food spots popping up these days 👀

(Media) ✨ NEW Indian restaurant in and this one is worth adding to your list!

The interior here is stunning 🤩 think beautiful decor, an upscale atmosphere and an elevated Indian dining experience. Their menu also has quite the variety, with plenty of vegetarian options.

As someone who’s still exploring Indian cuisine, I appreciated that the dishes we tried felt approachable while still being packed with flavour. Everything was vibrant and flavourful in its own way 🔥

This meal was hosted*, but my personal standouts were the chicken butter masala and paneer korma. Both were comforting, and there’s nothing more satisfying than a rich, flavourful sauce. I’m still very much loving paneer too 🤩

Overall, I’d recommend checking out this new spot if you’re looking for a nice dining experience or simply craving Indian food. Let me know what Indian dish I should try next!

Matcha consumer slowly levelling up to matcha maker 🍵😎 I took another matcha workshop with my friends in Edmonton! This time I checked out the class at Boa & Hare Coffee and Cocktails - a cafe by day, bar by night in Chinatown . They have a few matcha forward drinks and cocktails on their menu.

The workshop was $75/person and included your ticket, a matcha set and 20gr of matcha powder to take home. It was a small and intimate group, with class hosted by Kelly, Boa and Hare’s matcha expert. I definitely walked away with a little more knowledge on matcha and built on my skills to make matcha at home. 😄

The ✨BEST✨ new products in Canadian grocery stores!? I received a mystery box from filled with award-winning products from the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards. These awards recognize some of the most innovative new food and consumer products in the country and I bet some of them may have caught your eye before.

I was super excited to try the easy-to-bake mixes cause I’m not much of a bread or savoury baker. It was indeed very easy and tasted great 👩🏻‍🍳 I would totally purchase these again!

I’ll also admit that I have been so curious about the Dove x Crumbl products! They really do smell like the cookies, who doesn’t want to smell like a nilla bean cupcake lol🧁

If you’re anything like me, and you like to dilly dally at the grocery stores AND want to know what’s actually worth trying & buying, definitely check out the Grand Prix Awards winners at www.rccgrandprix.ca - they won for a reason!! 👀🤭

👩🏻‍🍳Which dish can I offer you first? Sharing some meal ideas as a foodie who loves to eat out but also enjoys balance and home cooked meals. I’ve been trying to cook at home a lot more this year and making these videos is a nice way to stay accountable but also look back at the delish meals I whip up.
