ONTARIO’S BEST BUTTER TART FESTIVAL 2026 🥧❤️

Oh, what a day.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better day. The sun was shining, the weather was beautiful, and the turnout was absolutely incredible.

This was our 4th year at Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival in Midland, and I can confidently say it won’t be our last.

There are a few people I need to thank.

First, to the organizers of the festival—Karen, Nicole, and the entire Midland Butter Tart Festival team—thank you for all the hard work that goes into creating such an amazing event year after year.

To my crew: Paul, Tiffany, Moe, Tassi, Lue, Rae, and Juju. We may be a slightly dysfunctional family, but somehow it works. Thank you for the early mornings, long days, endless laughs, and for always showing up and giving it your all. I couldn’t do this without you.

And finally, thank you to YOU—our customers, followers, and loyal Butter Tart Stalkers. Whether you’ve been supporting us from day 1 or discovered us for the first time this weekend, thank you for choosing us. Your support means more than you’ll ever know.

We’ll be resting our feet, catching up on sleep, and getting ready to do it all again.

Today, we honour the butter tarts that never made it to Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival.

Some cracked under pressure.
Some leaked when we needed them most.
Some were victims of quality control.
And some… well… we’re still investigating.

While they may never experience the excitement of Midland, their sacrifice ensured that only the finest butter tarts would continue the journey.

Gone, but never forgotten.

Please keep their families in your thoughts during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you purchase a 6-pack of butter tarts. 🥧😂🕊️

Midland is in 3 days.

The original goal was 7,000 butter tarts. Reality had other plans. 😅

Between ingredient runs, production schedules, sleep deprivation, and trying to keep everything moving, sometimes you have to adjust the plan and focus on what really matters—putting out the best butter tarts possible.

What I am sure of is this: none of this happens without an incredible team behind me. They show up, work hard, put up with my chaos, and somehow still keep me laughing along the way.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have butter tarts to make, a festival to prepare for, and apparently a Bravo reunion to recover from. 🥧😂

I operate a province-wide distribution network for highly addictive golden substances. Customers track my location online, travel hours to find me, and routinely leave with multiple packages.

On June 13, I’ll be participating in one of Ontario’s largest organized gatherings of butter tart dealers.

Authorities call it the Midland Butter Tart Festival. 😜

Most people see the finished butter tarts and the festival crowds. What they don’t see is everything that happens behind the scenes to get there.

Over the next few days, I’ll be taking you along for the ride—from planning and shopping to baking, packing, and all the chaos in between.

Thousands of butter tarts.
Hundreds of pounds of ingredients.
Early mornings.
Late nights.
And a whole lot of butter.

You know the butter tarts… but do you know the woman behind them? 🥧❤️

For those who are new here, I’m Omi.

First-generation Canadian. Daughter of Trinidadian immigrants. Former line cook and baker. Cake decorator turned butter tart maker. Wife to Paul. Mom of two amazing kids.

My journey didn’t start with butter tarts. It started in the kitchen with my mom, baking sponge cakes and currant rolls, and dreaming of becoming a chef.

Life took a few unexpected turns, but every step led me here.

This is just a little glimpse into who I am beyond the butter tarts.

Our butter tarts are not a health food. They’re a rich handcrafted sweet treat made to be enjoyed. 🥧

No protein claims. No “guilt-free” promises. No pretending they’re something they’re not.

We’re not here to sell you a health snack.We’re here to make really good butter tarts.

Flaky pastry, delicious filling, and a little bit of happiness in every bite.

Because sometimes you don’t need a healthy dessert—you just need a really good butter tart.

And we’re perfectly okay with that.😜

🥧 Happy National Butter Tart Day! 🥧

I asked fellow butter tart bakers one simple question:

“What’s the first word that comes to mind when you hear butter tarts?”

The answers were as unique as the tarts themselves.

For me, the word is community.

Butter tarts have brought so many incredible people into my life—customers who have become friends, fellow bakers who understand the early mornings and late nights, and the amazing Butter Tart Stalkers who support small businesses like mine.

What started as a love of baking turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

So today, let’s celebrate not only Canada’s iconic dessert but also the people and connections it creates.
