Another delivery of vegetable starts ready to go to Nakusp Heritage Nursery this afternoon: edible and medicinal flowers (calendula, nasturtium), herbs (basil, celery), butternut squash, strawflower and the last paste tomatoes. Come and get your local, organically grown starts for planting this weekend!

Did you know? Although strawflowers are not edible, we love them in our garden because they are beautiful even long after the growing season has ended in dried flower arrangements.

Today, farming means observing the full circle of life. While outside we're making chicken broth from recently butchered roosters, indoors new chicks are hatching. It's an emotional rollercoaster, but it's also what sustains us, and we're deeply grateful to have healthy food available year-round.
Chicken broth is available for purchase. 😀

We are delighted to partner again this year with the Nakusp Heritage Nursery to bring you local, organic vegetable starts so that you can grow wholesome, nutrient rich food for your family.

We apologize to those who have supported us in the past by purchasing vegetable starts directly from the farm but whose orders we weren’t able to accept this year. We’re grateful for the overwhelming response this season, though demand exceeded what we were able to grow. We truly appreciate your continued support and understanding.

We are hopeful that we’ll be able to expand our growing space for next year so that we can once again serve everyone in our community.

Of course we will be bringing along Spicer Farm’s Organic vegetables.🫜🧄❤️Stock up on the very best while it’s available!

Catch us on the Professional Gardener Panel at the Seed Exchange — we can’t wait to talk soil, seeds, and all things growing with you! 🌸

Hope to see you there!!!

*EDIT: Apples are now sold out for the season. Thank you for your support. We still have a few pears left ($3/lb), as well as walnuts ($9/lb) and hazelnuts ($5/0.5 lb) - both in shells.*

Pears as well as Boskop and McIntosh apples for sale! Organically grown, hand-picked directly from the tree (no bruised fruit from the ground) and hand selected for the best quality.
The pears were harvested on October 11 and are nice and firm. They will ripen indoors and become juicy and sweet. Great for eating fresh, dehydrating, canning or juicing.
Boxes are pre-weighed (various sizes available). $3/lb

The McIntosh apples were picked on October 12. They are juicy and delicious, mostly sweet with a bit of a tang. They are great for eating fresh, making apple sauce and baking (soft-cooking variety).
$3/lb - please bring your own container.

The Boskop apples are picked on demand right from the tree. Boskops are tart with high acidity. They are excellent for cooking, baking, and making hard cider (or eating fresh, if you like sour apples). They have a rough, thick skin and store quite well.
$3/lb - please bring your own container

Quick pickup in Fauquier or Tuesdays in Burton (3:30pm) and Nakusp (5-6pm).
