Went down a tiny rabbit hole this morning. But something I have been struggling with as of late is the internet. And how much AI has changed the way I have utilized it.

Please note, that I did not follow any of the above mentioned steps to trace the sources of this information. For all I know the AI tool I used made up all of the listed statistics.

Bottom line is always follow the $$. Knowing who funds what, and what the incentives are will lead you to the dots that you need to connect. Don’t take the internets word for it. It’s a wild world out there. Stay diligent. Ask questions. And trust your own body and intuition for answers. Because in the end it’s only you that matters. And the best version of you will help others be the best version of themselves.

Don’t forget that AI is trained by the very systems that have a stake in the information they are providing.

Also, if anyone knows how to turn AI “off” in Brave internet browser, please let me know. TIA.

Also, finally restocked Willow Jane. All the sizes of your favourite undergarments are back! I actually had a customer retrieve the box for me at the post office because she came for a bra, and I hadn’t picked up the package yet. Bless this community.

Also restocked some fan favourites from Queen of the Thrones®. The rose quartz roller is 👌. The lash and brow wand is new to the shop, but I’ve personally been using mine for a while now. I really do love this brand.

I haven't been to Walmart since 2006 or so. Well after all that time I had to go there last year, because I needed black stockings (to perform the Cell Block Tango for Chicago the musical- not really a stockings person normally haha), and although I searched, I could find no better option.
Walking through the store made me feel sad.
The boxes and boxes of 'snack' food with terrible ingredients, lifeless produce, the weird cardboard looking bread, racks of poorly made clothes, self checkout machines that are not easier for the customer and take away jobs and the humanity of our experience as humans in a marketplace. The weirdly bright lights made me feel lightheaded.
It's not just Walmart, obviously, it's Amazon etc.
The point is that when I walk into Golden Gatherings in Golden Lake it's obviously a special place and a very human place.
Jessica Gibson, the owner, is a courageous trailblazing force and that is hard for some people to understand. Others understand that she did the hard work for us of finding the source of the good stuff and consolidating it in one place for our convenience. I can pick up any item in the store and it has a story and it stands up ethically. Every community needs a Jess.

Here is a little rant. Please tell me your thoughts. Instagram says it won’t get any traction because it is longer than 3 minutes. Let’s prove the gram wrong. Like, comment, share, and beat the algorithm.

This is basically comparing carrots to carrots. Why the carrots at the shop cost more than a conventional farm stand.

There is a lot of nuance at play here. And comparing 🥕 to 🥕 isn’t necessarily the question we should focus on, as a carrot is not just a carrot. A carrot and its nutrient value is a direct message to your body. It matters who grew it. It matters how it was grown. The impact growing it has on the environment matters. All things that I factor in when I choose to buy carrots from a local organic farm.
