We are a small general construction company that just started out on our own a few months ago. We were originally the Asbestos Assisins as that's what I specialized in, however going off on my own I've been doing more general construction and decided to change the business name!

That said, we've decided to change our name from Asbestos Assisins to K&J Construction.

A little about us:

My name is Kale and I've been working in the trades for roughly 12 years. I am a general contractor that has years of experience in carpentry, flooring, drywalling, insulating, mold removal, framing, building decks and more! I just branched out on my own a few months ago after working 5 years at a construction company in Dauphin, and previous to that I was an electrical apprentice for 4 years, and previous to that I worked for a few different companies building homes and doing general construction.

I also have my amazing wife working with me and her name is Jordyn. Jordyn is my painter, sander, and general helper who is learning so much with each job and is eager to continue learning!

In celebration of our new name, we are doing this giveaway!

Hey spicy friends! Happy Sunday, although I have some sad news to share with you. It's taken me a while to post this as I am extremely sad and feeling defeated. As many of you know, I was set back for a bit due to the flooding. I had just started going on spices again and was informed that due to new and updated government regulations, I have to do some updates to my kitchen before I can continue spice production. So unfortunately I'm on a standstill again while I get my kitchen up to the governments regulations.

In the meantime, I am working along side my husband (who is going to be doing my renovations 😉🥰) with his business. For those that don't know, my husband's name is Kale and he's a contractor. He specializes in asbestos removal but does general contracting including insulation, flooring, drywalling, framing, decks, mold removal, etc.

I am his sander and painter and general helper with whatever he needs! If you like, give his page a follow Asbestos Assassins and if you have any projects you want done don't hesitate to reach out!

I don't know how long my renovations are going to take as it's a process and materials aren't cheap, and again I am very saddened that I am temporarily out of commission again but hopefully not for too long!!

For anyone new here that is seeing this, my name is Jordyn and I started Rooted in Grandview in April of 2025. I make 100% all natural spice blends out of fresh produce I dehydrate and grind. There are no additives, no fillers, no MSG, and all my blends are gluten free except for the Chicken Coatings.

Each blend comes sealed in a 4x6 inch bag, and the grams vary depending on the blend. Each bag holds roughly 1 cup of product and are $12.50/bag.

My dehydrators are running daily so the spices are always very fresh! I have various blends to choose from (see pinned post on my page) as well as tons of new blends that will be coming out! (Looking forward to getting some new fall blends rolling soon!)

Happy Wednesday friends! Today is my husband and I's 3rd wedding anniversary so we are celebrating with one of our favorite meals, shrimp pasta! His grandma introduced us to her famous shrimp pasta, I've slightly adjusted her recipe this time to use my Fire Sea Salt blend! It was delicious!! 🔥🔥🔥

Hey Grandview!! I am very excited to announce that my spices will now be available for purchase in store in Grandview at Kim Dubek's store!! (Formally The Pink Petal on Main St)

Kim is having her grand opening this coming Tuesday (but is open already) and has lots of great vendors in store already!!

I have a very small selection in store right now but will be getting more in once I get caught up!

Happy Monday everyone!! I am excited to share with you that I am now up and running again!! 🩷 I have been working on setting up a new work space due to electrical issues caused by the flood. I've now got my new space complete and am ready to go!

Dehydrators are going, I'm building up my powders as I was right out of everything, and then will be getting orders done and a much needed restock sent to Daisy's Revival!!

I want to thank you all again for your patience with me while I navigated this situation, and to also thank you all for reaching out with kind words and concerns! I had quite a few of my wonderful customers reach out worried that I wasn't going to be making spices anymore; this was just a small set back that in the end led to a bigger and better work space!! 🩷

I plan to be rolling out with orders and getting bags sent to Daisy's Revival next week!!

Hello spicy friends!! 🔥🩷 Just wanted to check in and say hi and let you all know I'm still currently unable to make spices while we get our house back in order from the flooding! I'm hoping for end of July to be rolling again!! 🥰

I hope you are all managing well with the aftermath of the flooding and now the extreme heat! 🥵

Your spice lady will be back in production soon, and since I haven't been able to make any spices I've been doing a lot of researching and planning for spices that have been requested so stay tuned for that soon!! 🩷

Grandview, Roblin, Gilbert Plains, Dauphin, Swan Valley and all the other communities suffering from this disaster, my thoughts are with you all during this very stressful time 🩷

I have a few wonderful customers waiting for orders and a couple orders that came in recently, unfortunately due to the flooding I am unable to fill any orders until further notice.

We are currently working on clean up after severe flooding in both our house and our rental property, so spice production is on a short hold!

So many have it so much worse than we do, and my thoughts are with everyone who has lost, big or small. It's so heart warming seeing all the communities teaming up together to help each other through this crazy time!!
