Long time festival supporter and friend of the Indie, Kako's Kitchen has partnered up with us to bring you Princess Mononoke Sunday September 13th at 6:00pm!

One of Hayao Miyazaki's most beloved films, Princess Mononoke follows the young warrior Ash*taka, who stumbles into a bitter conflict between Lady Eboshi, the proud people of Iron Town, and the enigmatic Princess Mononoke, a young girl raised by wolves, who will stop at nothing to prevent the humans from destroying her home and the forest spirits and animal gods who live there.

Today, we have two Japanese favourites: Melon Pan and Anpan! 🍈🍞

Our Melon Pan is made with a soft, classic bread dough topped with a layer of sweet, crispy cookie dough. It’s one of my children’s favourites! ❤️

Our Anpan is filled with sweet red bean paste and cream—a delicious combination that brings back so many memories of Japan. 🇯🇵✨

To our amazing team,

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been on this journey with me and continues to support me every step of the way.

I started this business on my own in 2020. Five years ago, we were able to open our first storefront, and since then our team has grown, our workshops have expanded, and we’ve had the opportunity to participate pop-up events and take on exciting new challenges.

None of this would have been possible without each and every one of you. Your hard work, encouragement, and unwavering support have given me the strength to keep moving forward. I am truly grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey.

Because of you, we have been able to grow beyond what I ever imagined. Japan Festival Sudbury would not have been the success it is today without your dedication and willingness to give your all. Thank you for believing in our vision and helping bring it to life year after year.

As we look ahead, I hope we can continue to embrace new challenges, celebrate and create many more wonderful memories together.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such kind, talented, and supportive people. Thank you for being part of this journey and for making this dream possible.

What an unforgettable day!

To everyone who joined us, performed, volunteered, sponsored, and supported Japan Festival Sudbury—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your enthusiasm, kindness, and energy made this year’s festival truly special.

Although we had to temporarily pause the festival due to severe weather, seeing so many of you return afterward filled our hearts with gratitude. Your patience, encouragement, and unwavering support made this year’s festival even more meaningful. Thank you for standing with us.
