Sudbury besties, I went into Winners and apparently we have skipped directly to FULL HALLOWEEN. 😂🎃

Cute ghosts, creepy skulls, fall everything, spooky mugs, enough seasonal kitchenware to completely redecorate your house and approximately 400 things I had to remind myself I do not need.

Sudbury parents, I went hunting through Costco for back-to-school finds! 🎒🛒

And there is A LOT right now. Lunchbox snacks, juice boxes, easy freezer lunches, water bottles, sandwich bags, stuff for the teenagers and, because we live in Sudbury, apparently it’s already time to talk about snowsuits. 😂❄️

I pulled together some of the things that caught my eye, including a few items currently on sale.

School starts Tuesday and I THINK we’re ready?! 😂

The supplies are bought, the teenager has been appropriately prepped, the sports chaos is incoming, the freezer and fridge are stocked, and I have filled my agenda with enough colour-coded information to create the illusion that I have control over any of this.

This year I’ve been thinking less about “back-to-school shopping” and more about what can I do now to make our whole household’s September a little easier?

Consider this my official application to become a YES Theatre season ticket holder for life 😂🎭

There is just something about getting dressed up, grabbing a drink, finding your seat and watching ridiculously talented people perform live right here in Sudbury. It will NEVER get old.

We’ve seen so many YES Theatre productions over the years and somehow I still leave every single one thinking, “okay THAT might be my favourite.” 😂♥️

Come From Away is absolutely worth adding to that list.

When you live hours away from Farm Boy, you take what you can get 😂

Mom arrived in Sudbury and came prepared with a full Farm Boy haul! She hunted down some of my favourites and grabbed a bunch of new-to-me things for us to try too.

Not quite as fun as wandering their endless aisles myself and discovering approximately 37 things I suddenly “need” 😂 but definitely the second-best option for us Sudbury girlies.

Farm Boy, if you happen to see this…I’m just saying Sudbury is waiting 😂

Okay, fellow Farm Boy lovers: what’s the product you buy EVERY single time you go?

Okay, I promised you the recipe! 🍎🍂

HARVEST DENSE BEAN SALAD

1 can chickpeas, drained + rinsed
1 can white beans, drained + rinsed
1 cucumber, finely diced
1 small red pepper, finely diced
Cherry tomatoes, finely chopped
Sweet banana peppers, finely chopped
1 Honeycrisp apple, finely diced
½ red onion, finely diced
Fresh peas
Pumpkin seeds
About ½ cup feta, or measure with your heart 😂
Small handful fresh parsley

For the dressing:
2 tbsp Adoro Apple Balsamic
2 tbsp Adoro Savoury Butter Olive Oil
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Small squeeze of fresh lemon
½ tsp dried oregano
Salt + freshly cracked pepper

Finely dice everything, whisk the dressing together, pour it over the salad and give everything a really good toss. That’s it!

Definitely save this one because it makes a BIG batch and is such an easy grab-and-go lunch to have sitting in the fridge. 🍎🥗

This month, Savory Butter Olive Oil + Apple Balsamic are 15% off and naturally I already have plans for BOTH of them 😂

But also can we discuss the fact that I apparently cannot walk into Adoro for one thing? The garlic olive oil needed to be replenished because at this point I genuinely don’t understand why I would cook with regular olive oil when garlic olive oil exists. 🤣

And yes, the dill has already been opened because I have absolutely no patience.

Tonight I’m putting these September flavours to work with my Harvest Dense Bean Salad and I am VERY excited about this one. 🍎🫘
