My last trip of the year brings me to Pane E Circo. If you're looking for high-quality Italian products, this is certainly a place you should check out. They have a vast selection of imported Charcuterie, sourdough breads & artisanal pastries baked each day, and even the fresh handmade pastas & sauces. They serve all the Bertossie Restaurants. Definitely check out their layered butterscotch cake!! WOW.

I got the chance to join Joseph DeBenedictis while he was in Halifax for the weekend. He’s a food vlogger from Toronto. His TikTok channel is USA vs. Canada and Food, plus he’s a 3-time Emmy Award-winning editor. You can also catch him on Instagram and YouTube. What started as a search for the best donair turned into a full-on food adventure. He stopped at a ton of different spots, trying all kinds of eats, and I met up with him at Randy’s Pizza for their epic donair, which may have been his favorite of the trip. ‪

Grabbed the very popular Turkey Dinner sub at the recently opened Firehouse Subs. It was my second time; the first, they ran out of dressing/stuffing, and this time it was gravy, which was certainly disappointing, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The Brisket Hat trick was also solid!

Grabbed lunch at Luke’s Small Goods, a great spot downtown Halifax that serves up breakfast and lunch.
I kicked things off with their roast beef sandwich, medium rare, tender, and topped with a smooth horseradish cream that had all the flavour without that usual overpowering punch. Then the hot Genoa salami with Ciro mozzarella—just the right amount of heat, perfectly balanced flavour. Both were served on crispy, fresh ciabatta buns.

And of course, I couldn’t leave without trying the cookies: ginger molasses, oatmeal raisin, and white chocolate walnut.
Luke’s also has locally and imported goods like jams, spreads, pasta, sauces, cheeses, meats, and a lineup of baked goods from breads, croissants, turnovers, scones, and more. Definitely a spot to check out. Get out and support our local businesses.

Enjoyed some Korean cuisine at Gobong Korean BBQ in a Cup. I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken Bap and BBQ Beef Bowl. Big portions at a great price. A great spot to grab a quick bite. Certainly worth checking out. Remember to support small businesses.

This one’s all about authentic Mexican goodness — and it delivered! I tried the chimichanga that was loaded with spicy Mexican chorizo beans and cheese, along with a perfectly grilled quesadilla, and some killer tacos, including one with braised beef shoulder that was fantastic. The tortilla chips seasoned with a chipotle spice were excellent as well.

The seasoning and flavours were on point, balanced, a bit of heat, and totally authentic.
As good as it all was, the chimichanga stole the show — hands down my favourite. With a great variety on the menu and solid prices, this spot is a must-try for real Mexican food lovers. Check them out and always remember to support our local businesses.

after multiple trips to my home bay, I finally stopped into Fireworks, Texas BBQ. Perfect spot for you meat lovers out there, everything is homemade and fresh. I had the Honkytonk, which was 100% beef hot dog topped with brisket, cheese, grilled onions, and jalapeños. This was so so good, also had a side of Chipotle fried beans. They also have a large selection of items that you can purchase and take home, and if you are familiar with my Mahone Ba,y your visit is just not complete without a visit to Jo-Anns market. I always remember to support local businesses.

Sushi cravings took me to Jukai Japanese and Thai in Bedford, one of their three locations, and it absolutely delivered.
I had the Raptor, Ocean 7, and Mango Roll—all incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The Cheese Wontons were crispy and creamy, exactly what I was hoping for.

Tried Takoyaki (fried octopus) for the first time—wasn't really for me, but I’m glad I gave it a shot.

Also, the packaging really stood out. It’s not something I usually pay attention to, but theirs felt high-end and well-thought-out.

Overall, solid experience. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
