A handful of brave piglets went on a mini-adventure in the grass with momma Patsy today. It’s exciting being a piglet!

Sasha and Dante trying to decide who gets to have the tree. Whose side are you on?

Wishing you a million moments of perfect heart-healing peace today and always.

Soooo…. Just how many baby videos are you wanting to see pop up in your feed? 🤣 I often try not to inundate you too badly, but at the same time after this litter (Patsy x Boris) we are only expecting one more litter for 2026. And this is also our very last Boris litter, and will likely be our final from Patsy too. All that to say they are pretty special. Soooo… just how much of them do you want to see? LOL Let me know!

We had a long night here and are absolutely exhausted, but it’s a darn good morning. I’ll share updates on Patsy and her wee ones as we get to know each of them. - How many do you see? Comment with your best guess.

I’m sorry Muffy! These two idiots photobombed your shoot, and their ridiculously goofy love for one another had to be shared. I promise you will get the spotlight too, just not this time.

Thank you for all your support; I appreciate you!

These two moms share the job of raising their collective group of seven chicks, and are absolutely rocking it. Even with some rain and a ton of rooster shenanigans they are totally rocking motherhood. Any chicks our girls raise here stay here, so like it or lump it, these hens are moms for life.

Patsy is due in about a week and is huge and uncomfortable, she even holds her breath when sitting up or laying down; my poor girl. Thankfully she is almost at the finish line so I talk sweetly and reassuringly and am giving her room to complain because we all feel better after getting it all out there. Any guesses as to when she will farrow and how many babies she is growing in there?

Purebred Icelandic Chicks are available year round here At Road’s End. Not familiar with them? Icelandics are a landrace chicken known for their cold tolerance, predator-evasion capabilities, large and flavourful egg yolks, and diverse plumage colours and patterns. They are friendly, curious, and generally an all-around outstanding homesteading bird. Drop me a line to add your name to our wait list: [email protected]
