If anyone has been considering adding a rabbit to their life, our purebred English lop litter is ready to go!

Extremely well handled by all kids that come out for our programming!
This breed is known as the “puppy dogs” of the rabbit world. Extremely docile, friendly, easy to train. They also have the longest ears of all breeds!

English lops are difficult to breed and so we do not often have many kits available. This will be our only litter this year.

We will offer discounts if someone is interested in a pair!

We have a few gorgeously coloured purebred English lop rabbits available. They are 9 weeks old, and can now go on to f

A little farm update:

Early last week, we said goodbye to our sweet cow Brina - as she was picked up and brought to a new home. Brina was born with us and we’ve raised her from the very beginning, so after five years, it definitely felt strange to see her go. We’ll miss her!

That said, the timing ended up being pretty serendipitous. We were dealing with a family medical emergency last week, so having one less large animal to care for here was probably a good thing.

We’re really happy with where Brina has landed. She’s gone to a growing and thriving homestead belonging to a friend of our family, where she has other cows for company and a family with lots of experience caring for and milking a large goat herd. We know she’ll be very well taken care of there.

And for everyone who has been messaging us asking about future programs - YES, we do plan to host more Parent & Tot programs coming very soon, and we will also release details regarding registration for our upcoming farm school fall semester (for children aged 6-12) by month’s end.

We do just need a little more time to get back on our feet and catch up around here.

Thank you for your patience.

We’ll see you back at the farm soon!

🐰 Looking for the sweetest, most laid-back rabbits around?

We have New Zealand × English Lop crosses ready for new homes now!

* 3 bucklings left (broken black and whites)

They have been handled constantly by kids (including toddlers!) since they were tiny. They don’t kick, scratch, or panic! They literally just go completely limp and melt into your arms. They are the definition of easy-going, bomb-proof rabbits.

These are large breed “mutt” rabbits, so expect them to mature into big rabbits (potentially around 10 lbs). They aren’t the ideal fit for every indoor rabbit setup unless you’re prepared for their size, but they make fantastic homestead pets, breeding stock, or dual-purpose rabbits. $25 each for the NZ crosses! Please come and meet them and see how friendly they are and pick out your favourite!

✨And for those looking for something extra special: We’ll have beautiful Purebred English Lop kits available in a few weeks. These will be premium, pet-quality rabbits with the classic oversized ears and gentle English Lop temperament - they’ll be priced accordingly for their breed!

Another wonderful homeschool semester has come to an end, and it’s hard to believe how quickly the time flew by.

For those who are new to following our page, our Forest & Farm Homeschool Semester is a weekly drop-off program geared primarily for homeschooled children ages 6-12, offered for separate spring and fall terms. Children spend a full day immersed in outdoor learning, animal husbandry, homesteading skills, nature exploration, and forest school-inspired activities. More importantly, they build friendships, develop confidence, and create lasting memories while spending the majority of their days outside.

While our program is primarily designed for homeschool families, we’ve also been fortunate to have a few school children join us with permission from their teachers to supplement their classroom learning for a day each week!

We wrapped up the semester with plenty of fun! The children enjoyed archery competitions (complete with small prizes!), many energetic rounds of Capture the Flag, giant bubbles, snake hunting, free play, extra time on the zipline and ninja course, and a little adventure exploring our old gravel pit in search of interesting rocks.

As always, the farm had a few surprises in store. The children got to meet some last-minute additions, including more Kunekune piglets, an adorable little Jersey calf, and, for our Wednesday group, a truly unforgettable experience as they witnessed a set of lamb twins being born during the last day of their program! Those kinds of unexpected moments are part of what makes learning on a farm so special.

Each group also created a keepsake to take home. One group made custom nature boxes to collect and store some treasures, while the other helped make homemade soap and stamped each bar with the child’s first initial.

As we close another season, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every family who chose to trust us with their children this spring. Whether you joined us for our full homeschool semester, March Break and PA Days, or the Junior Farm Explorers, we are so grateful for your support!

For everyone asking about our summer plans; we do hope to offer a few more Parent & Tot programs here and there, and we may run a day camp or two for older children. Nothing has been finalized just yet, though. For now, we’re taking a little break to catch up on farm projects and enjoy some family time!

We’ll also likely avoid scheduling any programming on days when temperatures are approaching 30°C, as it can simply become too uncomfortable and many of our animals spend those days resting in the shade where they can stay cool.

Thank you all again for following along and supporting our little farm.

Stay tuned to our page for program updates and for details regarding our next fall semester (registration will not open for that until the end of August).

We finally had our long expected calf from our other jersey cow, Brina.

His dad is named ‘Hartley’ and has similar flashy patterns and the same heart on his head as well.

The kids have decided to name this little guy simply “Hart.” 💙

He was born last Friday! We were happy our semester students were able to meet him before our program concluded for the summer!
