Introducing SAGE HILLS PLUM 1P aka Plum! We welcomed this sweet girl from Sage Hills Farm about a week ago so she is still in quarantine, which does not make for great photos, but at least she gets all the goodies in the food bowl to herself in the meantime! Once her q-time is up she will be introduced to Ravenwood Acres Pandora 2P as her winter buddy.
These two gilts, along with Ravenwood Acres Mirasol 2M, bring forward a continuation of our female line going directly back to Paddy Green Paprika 7C plus fresh lineage to UK Deerpark lines through Shankend Jasper and Croxeth Golden Ranger thanks to Heritage Livestock Canada and Sleepy Shepherd Farm who worked tirelessly to bring in semen to enrich and enliven Tamworth diversity here in Canada.
And we can’t overlook other great influences from Canadians who came before us and kept this amazing breed afloat: JAFA, Elysian Fields, Leeway, Maclachlan Meadows, and Excalibur to name a few!
Last, but not least, I want to acknowledge and thank Pambeni Farms and Sage Hills Farm for their interest in and devotion to working with the Tamworth. They say it takes a village - with your cooperation and resources we can continue to preserve this wonderful breed for the future!
